What contributes towards the aging of the skin? (Part 2 of 3)

It has been a month now since I have been back from my sun-exposed trip. For the first 2 weeks I was nourishing my skin to add moisture back in and reduce the inflammation. I did this with a fairly simple at home regimen.

For my cleanser I used a combination of 4 cleansers. The Vitamin Veil cleanser from Circadia at least once every couple uses to deposit the nutrients back into my skin; Creamy cleanser by PCA as a gentle cleanser; Soothing cleanser by Mark Lees to help with the inflammation; Micro Exfoliating Cleanser from Circadia to gently exfoliate. Along with cleansing twice a day, I was incorporating a vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, and some plant stem cell extracts to strengthen my tissue’s resiliency.

To protect and hydrate my skin I was alternating between an anti-inflammatory post peel balm, Silkcoat balm and the Hyaluronic Acid overnight mask along with an SPF 37 every morning. After 2 weeks my skin was now ready for its first peel. I gave myself a low strength TCA with a retinoid booster to address the inflammation as well as some of the pigmentation. After being a “peely” mess for about 10 days, I reincorporated all my normal correctives including my acne gel as well as a low dose retinol and went back to my normal skin care routine for this time of the year.

This week I will be receiving a brightening facial to continue to slough off some of the damaged dead skin cells as well as to brighten the overall complexion of my skin I can already see and feel a difference in my skin and I’m hoping to restore its condition back to what it was before my trip!
